Darabukke ( or tarabuka) is a chalice-like clay drum which was originally used by the pre-islamic Egyptian populations during their rituals. It is during a celebration that stories are told from generation to generation, and traditions and rites are rediscovered; where the music is the real protagonist, narrating faraway tales. There is no category for this music; contemporary sound, alive today while reminding of more or less ancient times here and elsewhere. There are no categories for the instruments; polyphonic and monodic, melodic and percussive, playing solo or in duo, always mixing the listening levels. There is no category  for what we are writing and listening.
